Most convenient solution for knowing if you are in a drought or not.

I have been able to rely on this app to see the past days' (up to 72 hours, 3 days) rainfall totals for my location. It appears to be fairly accurate... much more than my other weather-related apps which seem to give the average rainfall over a wider range (on the order/level of cities or counties as opposed to local neighborhoods). My reason for using this app is so I can better approximate how much I might need to water the flowers and other water-needy plants outside my house.

I had been looking forever for an app that tracks and records rainfall. The Raindrop app does that and more, with great specificity! Kudos to the developers. It seems like they are making ongoing improvements, but it is already beyond my previous expectations. I purchased the subscription, and am really glad to have it - it's very worthwhile!!

I've been using this app for about 4 years now. I've been amazed at the accuracy of this thing. Occasionally it'll be off a little, but if you're like me, you've seen it raining on your neighbor's pasture and you're not getting a drop, or vice versa. If you have work going on in multiple locations, you can have a rain gauge in each location so you'll know whether to send a crew to work or not. I highly recommend this app to anyone that has scattered farmland, pastures, construction sites, or, just nosy like me.

I am so happy that I downloaded this app and I am a paid user. I downloaded because I have one of those robot lawnmowers. I don't want it to go out after the rain so I keep an eye on the rain in the past with this app. Now with the new forecast feature I can plan when to send the lawnmower out and for how long. The lawnmower has its own rain sensor but once the rain stops it starts back up. I don't want it to go back so I don't program it to mow if it rained.

I live in Florida, and I rely on this app for irrigating. Lawns and plants here only need watering when rain doesn't fall. The University of Florida and the Extension offices recommend 1/2 inch to 3/4 inches per application, for our sandy FL soil. This app tells me exactly what amount has fallen in my exact location. I can now help our FL resources AND save money on utility bills.

RainDrop is perfect for our business of fixing leaky lakes over 5 states. We, at What's Below, make less runs to lakes that have yet to have enough rain to rse the water level. It also shows where we probably will have mud. It is saving us time and fuel expense.

many apps of this type are a hit and miss on accuracy but I have found that this app is fairly accurate. it's usually with in .1" from what my guage shows. This could be from blowing rains, either way I count on it being very close.. Highly Recommend it!

I have scattered properties and scattered rain gauges, and, because this app has history of all areas' rainfall, it is fun to check out what is going on around my places. It is an easy to use app with customization and historical data. One of my favorite things to do is look back and see what happened yesterday. I couldn't ever find it anyplace, until now!

Accurate records of total rainfall across America are the worst scientific collection of data I've ever seen by a government agency. I live in a place where just 2 miles can vary the rainfall by 50% during the course of a year. That is not a scientific way to accumulate data, one spot in a large geographic area doesn't mean anything. Raindrop is the first entity to accurately record rainfall totals across a geographic area.

An awesome rain forecast and summary app

I can attest to how easy and accurate this app is. I use this for my golf rounds faithfully. It's saved me from some serious downpours. Lately our weather has been very wet and playing golf is better dry than wet. I've subscribed to a couple of other weather apps but rain is not their focal point. This app covers my immediate and projected tee times without digging thru the apps' other features. Highly recommend this app.

I live in the PNW on the coast. A LOT of rain here, and this app referred by a friend looks like just the ticket I was looking for.

First of all, I want to say how easy this app is to use. It's clean, well organized, and intuitive. I wish there was a more obvious way to see the calendar view, but otherwise it's wonderful. I noticed rain tracking that seemed to be off a bit day to day and reached out using the built in support chat (amazing and well built also!) where I got a response that they are currently aggregating 0800 each day but are shifting to midnight to improve “daily” totals. Great news for usability and will help our kiddos' weather tracking project for accuracy. Thank you RainDrop team. Keep up the amazing work.

I had tried your app before but didn't see the "more info" so I didn't really think your app provided much but tried your app again recently and saw "more info" and now I LOVE your app. I need it to know if I need to water my outside plants or not. Seems accurate and matches my outside pool increase level. With a pool I have to maintain the water level within 5” for the skimmers to work properly. If too much rainfall I have to lower it so I downloaded this app to see how accurate it would be…after 3 days of rain…so far so good.

UPDATE: continued messing with the app and there is limited but useful functionality for the free version. Raised review from 3 to 5 stars. OLD REVIEW: Played with the website. Very nice. Downloaded the app. Registered. Dropped 1 pin and got the surprise subscription costs. $4.99/month or $49.99/year. 5 stars on functionality of the website and my limited app use. Could you please add tiered pricing?

Exactly what I was looking for

Up to date rain accumulation and seems very accurate. This was quick and easy, no frills, just rainfall totals, perfect.

Accuracy

This app is very accurate and easy to setup and use. I measured 2 5/8” in my rain gauge and the app was showing 2.5” so about an 1/8” difference and that's close enough for me. I do recommend this app!!

Extremely helpful

We use this to monitor rainfall on our property which is 2 hours away. It saves us driving there only to get our RV stuck in mud!

Not a farmer

Love this app, can look at rainfall in Columbia MO, Oxford MS, Inlet Beach FL, down the street, and especially at home to know when and how much to water the new lawn! Keep it up.

On top of things

I really appreciate being able to look at rainfall amounts at any time day or night. We have fields in a 20 mile radius and it just isn't feasible to drive around to see this. Very handy, easy to read.

Remote acreage

I own farm acreage 150 miles from where I live. It's impossible to rely on a traditional rain gauge. RainDrop enables me to monitor rainfall without being there.

Super helpful app

I've been using this application for over a year now to keep track of the rainfall at our local mountain bike trails to give me a much better chance of knowing the status of those trails. This app has been very helpful.

App is really helpful in determining specific rainfalls—and in our area it is amazing the rain differences just miles apart. We personally use it in lieu of a rain gauge. It's also been known to settle some family disputes about who got how much rain.

Finally a reasonable, reliable on-line rain gauge. With multiple fields located 20 miles apart over 60 sq miles, it's essential to our harvest schedule. Thank you for the program others want an exorbitant monthly fee to utilize.

Useful for tracking how much water has really fallen in the areas of interest. Use it to help conserve water. This in turn has decreased my water bill. No more guessing and lawn still looks good.

The app is simple and accurate. Gives me rainfall in my exact location. Other sites will give you data from a local (or almost local) airport that often is not accurate for your location.

Love it, haven't had it on my phone but maybe a couple weeks, it's right on with my rain gauge on the deck. When I was researching for a good app this one got high reviews, they were right far as I've seen so far, and I don't think I will be surprised. I don't wish to do the weather station thing, but I wanted a good rain app. I like high tech stuff and premium tech devices. This app pleases me. I'm already showing friends etc. and bragging on it. Great app

I really like it. Checked it against my rain gauge and can find no major difference. Plus I don't have to go outside and get wet to see the total rainfall.

Raindrop works! Easy and convenient.

I'm always looking for a way to get local precipitation amounts, and Raindrop is the app I turn to first. Once I identify my location, I can get total rainfall over the last 24 hours with one button push—opening the app. With a few other taps, I can see total precip over 72 hours, MTD, or YTD, and it is quite accurate when compared to other weather stations near me. The elegance is in its simplicity.
